Creating a new chapter for the Truman Brewery

– help shape our plans

Key benefits

The Truman Brewery and their development manager, Grow Places are bringing forward plans for a mixed-use redevelopment of vacant and underutilised parts of the site.

The mixed-use development will, amongst other things, contain affordable housing, affordable workspace, affordable retail and community space. Businesses are a vital part of the community, and our proposals aim to support and boost local businesses.

Our proposals aim to complement and benefit the existing structure of the community. Alongside the economic benefits outlined below, existing businesses currently on-site, e.g the Cash and Carry will have the opportunity to relocate somewhere within the Estate.

Homes for over 100 locals

The proposals include the delivery of new homes, including family and affordable homes. This is estimated to bring 111 new residents to the area.

Over 1,600 new local jobs

The proposals are estimated to support 1,670 new jobs, with 335 of these expected to go to local residents.

Over 37,000 new visitors each week

The proposals will deliver new economic activity and types of uses, driving additional footfall to the area and attracting an estimated 37,900 new visitors each week.

Over £18m new local spend per year

The new workers, residents and visitors are estimated to support £18.8m in local expenditure every year.
